On June 6th last, IPH and partners, the Health Service Executive held a two day site visit event as part of CHRODIS+, a European Joint Action. As part of Work Package 5 of CHRODIS+, IPH and HSE are facilitating the transfer of the Irish physical activity initiative, Active School Flag to European partners in Italy and Lithuania. Named in the Joint Committee report as a vital initiative, Active School Flag aims to get more schools, more active, more often with a whole-of-school approach to physical activity.
In 2017, IPH lead on Work Package 4 of the EU Joint Action on Physical Activity and Nutrition (JANPA) which estimated lifetime cost of childhood obesity. IPH Director of Research and information, Professor Kevin Balanda, presented some findings from Work Package 4 at the final conference in Paris on 24 November 2017.
